Trade unions are acquiring statutory rights to access your care services to meet, represent and recruit workers to join the union from 1 October 2026 and thresholds for unions to gain formal recognition and collective bargaining rights over pay and terms and conditions have been reduced.   This will fundamentally change workforce relations and your pay and reward strategy.  Care providers of all sizes are affected, and many are already receiving requests from unions so being proactive and developing a strategy now is essential.
