Eating well is so important to good health and wellbeing. Care services know this. So, as well as employing talented chefs, they have specialists working to improve the dining experience for residents.
This role is an excellent example of a specialist role within care. There are lots of different routes you could take within the industry, including specialising in an area of interest, like dining.
Dining specialist
As a dining specialist you would focus on how to improve meal services for care residents.
You may have a background in care, or as a food service assistant in a care home. Then, with experience and training you could specialise in making mealtimes work better for residents.
Dining can be difficult for people with dementia. You would help identify problems, support people with mealtimes and try to understand how it could go more smoothly.
