Make Care Your Career – recruitment support

Surrey Care Association is supporting local care providers to get involved in the national Make Care Your Career campaign — helping you promote your vacancies and attract new talent into Surrey’s care sector.

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has launched a new national recruitment campaign – Make Care Your Career – to inspire more people to choose a rewarding role in adult social care.

The campaign is live, so more people will be searching online for “care jobs near me”. We want Surrey’s vacancies to be easy to find.

This campaign celebrates the people, skills and opportunities that make care such a meaningful career. It’s being promoted across TV, radio and social media through autumn and winter 2025. The aim is to drive up interest in care work from across the country.

As the Surrey Care Association, we’re supporting local employers to make the most of this campaign and turn national awareness into local applications.

What the campaign is about

Make Care Your Career encourages people to see adult social care as a career with:

  • Purpose – making a real difference every day
  • Progression – clear routes for development and advancement
  • Flexibility – varied roles that fit around life and family
  • Community – being part of a team that supports local people

The campaign raises awareness nationally – but Surrey’s local providers are set to benefit from the uplift in interest.

What Surrey providers can do now

Phase 1 focus: Get your vacancies online and visible.

  1. Post your vacancies online
Make sure all open roles are listed on Find a Job and/or your local recruitment platforms.

If you use other platforms, or your own vacancies page, check that adverts are up to date and easy to apply for.

  • Check your online presence
Update your website, Facebook page and Google listing so applicants can easily find contact details.
Add a clear “Work With Us” or “Join Our Team” link if possible.
  • Use the official campaign materials
Download free graphics, videos and posters from the DHSC toolkit: Make Care Your Career campaign toolkit
  • Share your vacancies on social media
    Use hashtags #MakeCareYourCareer and #ProudToCareSurrey.
Mention your area (e.g. “We’re recruiting care workers in Guildford – make care your career with us!”).
