As part of an ancillary or domestic service team, you’ll help with the smooth running of the service. There are a range of ancillary roles, covering maintenance, catering, and housekeeping.

Housekeeping

Gina is Head Housekeeper in a care home for older people. It’s her role to make sure that everything is clean and comfortable for the residents. Her team of housekeepers and domestic assistants are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and providing other ancillary support.

Catering and meals

Cosmin has a passion for food. His interest led him to work as a kitchen assistant in a nursing home for older people. He is now the head chef, with responsibility for catering for people with dementia and special diets. His role involves understanding the importance of diet and nutrition.
