Forest Care – Holly Lodge Nursing Home

  • Published

Set in it’s own landscaped grounds and surrounded by woodland, Holly Lodge is a luxurious purpose built home designed to provide nursing care for residents with all levels of confusion, mainly with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, and other dementia related conditions.
We are passionate in trying to treat each resident as an individual, in trying to understand their personality and history and providing for their interests and needs. We aim to maintain resident’s dignity at all times, even when faced with the challenging behaviour that can be a feature of dementia

Holly Lodge provides 24-hour nursing care according to each resident’s individual care plan. The home is run by managers experienced in providing specialised care for elderly people with dementia and a dedicated team of registered mental health nurses and trained carers supports them. We carry out pre-admission assessments of all residents to ensure they receive the care that is specific to them and we continually re-assess each resident to ensure their care reflects their changing needs.

Residents have access to our retained GP practice, and additional services such as physiotherapy, chiropody, dental and optician appointments can be arranged.

Holly Lodge has been carefully designed over two floors to create a pleasant, safe and well equipped home for elderly people with dementia. The interior has been decorated and furnished to ensure it is visually appealing and stimulating. All corridors have memory triggers with vibrant colours and themes.

Each floor has it’s own comfortable and spacious lounge area, each fitted with a hearing loop system and this provides an area for activities, to watch television, listen to music or spend some quiet time.

The home also has a secure sensory garden, which has been carefully designed with different surface treatments to provide a stimulating outdoor environment and features plants specially chosen for their scent, colour and feel

All our rooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard and include en-suite facilities, TV and telephone points, thermostatic radiators, smoke detectors and 24-hour nurse call system. Residents are encouraged to bring small items of furniture, photos, pictures and other personal effects to make them feel at home.
