Nadra Ahmed, Executive Co-Chairman, National Care Association and co-organiser of this campaign led the call.

She explained the opportunity this is for the social care sector to gather together to ensure that the government are aware of the potential impact upon people supported by social care employer National Insurance contributions increase.

This also alongside the increase in National Minimum Wage, as well as reduced funding from local authorities.

It is an opportunity to gather together to take a balanced and measured approach to ensure that social care providers are heard by government decision makers.  The intention is to support local days of action in tandem with the day of action at Westminster.

Said Nicola McLeish, CEO at Surrey Care Association: ‘The event intends to show that the sector is stronger together and the intention is to influence and educate government about the impact of the recent budget across our communities.’

She added: ‘Social care reform and adequate funding for social care cannot continue to be postponed and put off and needs to be addressed urgently, and the hope is that the #ProvidersUnite campaign will seek to achieve this.’

SCA intends to use 2025 to focus on publicising the amazing work that our member providers do. Raising awareness of the vital importance of social care with members of the public and other stakeholders.
